LG CNS, our parent company started with the name of STM (System Technology Management) in 1987 as a Joint Venture between the LG Group in Korea and EDS in the U.S. (50:50 share)
LG CNS began with 849 employees and $17 million USD in sales revenue in 1987.
In the earlier stage, LG CNS' main business is running IT systems for the sister companies of LG group, practicing and learning advanced technologies and experience of EDS.
The company name was changed to "LG-EDS Systems" according to the Corporate Identity (CI) integration work of LG Group in 2001. LG Group then acquired EDS' 50% share in 2001 and renamed the firm "LG CNS".
LG CNS accelerated its growth with continuous investment in education and technology R&D, along with successful project implementation experiences, making itself the leader of the field in Korea.
LG CNS has put a great deal of efforts in overseas business since early 2001. LG CNS is currently running offices in China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States and Europe. It also established JVs such as Langchao LG in China and Intec LG CNS in Japan.
LG CNS quickly grew with the record of 33% annual growth rate for the next 18 years. As of 2003, LG CNS has over 5,700 employees and marked $1.1 billion USD in sales volume.
LG CNS established LG CNS Malaysia in 2002 with business intent of offering System Integration services in APAC region.
LG CNS established LG CNS Global in India in October 2004. Prior to which, LG CNS Global was operating as a division (Enterprise Technology Division) of LG Soft India (a 100% subsidiary of LG Electronics) since 1996.
In October 2004, this division was de-merged from LG Soft India and set up as the India subsidiary of LG CNS (the $1.8 Billion IT arm of LG Group). As one of the top 10 IT Services Company in Asia Pacific, LG CNS has a strategic intent to leverage the India subsidiary (LG CNS Global) to address the western hemisphere (US & Europe).
